Nothing says adventure like speed and watersports—which is exactly what the Blrrd team experienced during our trip out to Egmont and the Sunshine Coast. The crew at Egmont Adventure Centre were gracious in letting us play around with jet skis while soaking in the landscapes of Sechelt Inlet and Hotham Sound via Zodiac boat. Our adrenaline-filled excursions were contrasted nicely by the relaxing kayaking we did the next day. Just as soon as we departed the dock in our squadron of kayaks, a seaplane hovered above us, landing beautifully right near that same dock. The ensuing waves were quite unsettling for our camera gear, but here at Blrrd, we’re no strangers to the motto “anything for the shot.” After an exciting round of water activities coupled with our glorious stay at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge nearby, we were starting to understand why this place was called the Sunshine Coast.
